In Events on March 13, 2012 at 3:20 pm

The opening ceremony for The Big Read in Cochran will be held Monday, April 2, at 6 p.m. in Peacock Gallery of Russell Hall on the Middle Georgia College Cochran campus.

This kickoff event will feature the grand opening of the juried art exhibition “The World in Conflict,” which will be on display in the gallery from April 2 through April  27.  This exhibit showcases the work of local and regional artists, among them Connie Redd, Jessica Eanes, Kristen Nicole Eanes, Dara Ryles, and Terri Brown.  According to MGC Associate Professor of Art Charlie Agnew, “Artists were encouraged to consider many aspects of the ‘World in Conflict’ theme, from their own personal perspectives to the ways in which conflict has affected local, national, and world events in the past and present.”

Refreshments will be provided.

Free copies of Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried will be distributed.

For more information about the exhibit, contact Mr. Charlie Agnew at 478.934.3043 or cagnew@mgc.edu.
